Digital Workplace Onboarding
This digital checklist is written for company leaders moving their digital workplace to LexGo.
Presence
One of the keys to success with LexGo as a digital workplace is to set fair and reasonable expectations for presence. In other words, how will you know when employees are at work?
Here are some questions to ask:
Will you set a standard of everyone running LexGo if they are in the office?
Do you want people changing their statuses? If so, what rooms will you create for status (e.g. Stepped Away, AFK)?
How will you organize co-workers? In other words, who should be next to whom on the map? Some options include organizing by role, project and company function.
Unless you want certain people to have solo offices, avoid isolating people on the map.
When creating your map, some ideas to consider:
Create a room (e.g. Lounge) where employees are expected to have free conversations
Set up rooms with office hours to help signal when people are open for conversation
Connection
Some best practices for establishing social norms in a LexGo digital workplace:
- Conversation sizes: As few people as necessary. Generally, the "two-pizza" rule is a good rule of thumb for maximum conversation sizes.
- The three-text rule: The moment an interaction goes past three texts/chat messages, move it into LexGo.
Some questions to ask for teams who meet daily or frequently:
- Do teams have regular standup or standing meetings that everyone on that team attends?
- Should team have meetings in their team room or jump to a huddle?
Here are some additional best practices:
